BeechFest

A private festival

2 weeks ago we had the opportunity to produce a private festival in Hertfordshire for 200-250 people.

The brief was to bring something really different to the party. There had been 50 years of big scale summer balls before it… so no pressure then!

The idea of BeechFest was born. Capitalising on some pretty remarkable outdoor weather, we wanted to bring a proper outdoor event. One that really used the remarkable grounds and woodland and dispensed with the requirement of being in an indoors (yet outdoors) marquee for the duration.

We started the proceedings in the wood and built a gin bar and camp circle for the welcome drinks. A brilliant local company, Yerburgh’s Jam Jar Gin, supplied a case of their finest gin and with our very own woodland cocktail creations we were good to go.

We dropped in a 1950s Marconi TV (with personalised footage) and a Victorian lounge into the wood for effect. Even the trees had some great street art in gold frames to dress them.

Calling on some awesome bucket drummers we bumped into whilst we were in Norwich (they were busking outside W H Smith) along with a lot of pots and pans and buckets- we had some great camp fire music.

After 8pm the guests were instructed by the drummers to follow them to the party (a real pied piper moment). Following the trail through the woods revealed the main festival site.

With lots of games – we had golf shots, rifle shots and battle shots (yep, dispensing various types of shots), entertainment, amazing bars and some wonderful food stalls. Along with a great DJ and a great set list we had a big party ahead of us until 1am.

Enjoy the movie we made and let us know if we can help bring your team together in a surprising and creative fashion…..

Life’s too short for ordinary.
